Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Melt 8 oz of bittersweet chocolate and 1 T shortening in a double boiler over simmering water, stirring occasionally. Add a bit of alcohol at the end, if you like. Dip berries and place on wax paper to cool for an hour. It’s that easy.
