Buttercream Icing

 

6 tablespoons butter, room temperature

2 2/3 cups powdered sugar

1/3 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt (optional)

 

Cream butter.  Alternate adding powdered sugar and milk, blending in between until creamy.  If you like thicker icing, add more powdered sugar.  If you like thinner icing, add more milk.  Stir in extract.

 

*For chocolate icing, add 1/3-3/4 cups cocoa, depending on how light or dark you would like the chocolate flavor to be.
